Muse XR: Innovation, Creativity & Technology Collide
Immersive Games & Screen Showcase
Immersive storytelling spans a vast creative spectrum, from cinematic VR and interactive film to story-driven games and mixed-reality installations. Some of the most exciting works blur the boundaries between narrative, play, and presence, challenging the conventions of any single medium.
Muse XR, the Queensland XR Hub’s immersive games and screen showcase, was designed to inspire creative thinking, expand the horizons of traditional games & screen media, and shine a light on the extraordinary work emerging from Australia’s creative XR community – work that consistently punches above its weight on the global stage.
The result was a day filled with curiosity, community, and heart. Supported by Screen Queensland, the showcase featured rich, insightful discussions, inspiring visions for the future, and interactive immersive experiences. In an exhibit presented by HTC VIVE, audience members stepped back in time with ‘Titanic: Echoes from the Past’, a free-roam multi-user VR experience to rediscover the legendary ship like never before.
Watch the highlights below and hear more about Muse XR from those who attended:
“If you can create these magical experiences that augment what’s already there, then you’re contributing to the economy, you’re selling Australia, but with also that extra digital factor.”
Georgie Pinn, INTERACTOR
“It’s been an incredible lineup here today, like all of the different speakers are so diverse, and just like, the honest excitement as well, and like the change in the industry that we’re all feeling. It does really feel like we’re on the cusp of something pretty special here in Queensland.”
Liz Ballantyne, Gameloft
“One of the reasons why I think this sort of event is really important is that it brings people together. And it establishes a dialogue and allows us not just to exchange ideas, but understand where everybody sits in this industry and how everybody can be connected.”
Luke Buckmaster, The VR Critic
“It’s fantastic. I genuinely mean it. The talks were inspiring and really, definitely recommend anyone in this space to be part of this if they can.”
Tyrone Estephan, T&DA
